I have come across a story on Daily Graphic Online captioned “Govt drags striking teachers to Labour Commission over Nkansah’s appointment as GES D-G”.
The story stated “Graphic Online has gathered from some sources within the teachers front that they would have preferred Dr Christian Addai-Poku, a former President of NAGRAT as the GES DG”.
I want to state categorically that until I read this story online, I was never aware of any such discussion anywhere, that is, if there has ever been any such discussion at all. I cannot be the subject of the Teacher Unions struggle over the appointment of the Director General. It is regrettable that Daily Graphic could not quote from any authoritative sources in such a serious allegation but resorted to rumours and unidentified sources. I am unhappy to see my name in such a story and I distance myself from the said publication and whatever it was intended to achieve.
